Since 1975.
This is the history of us.
It all started with 12 families at a tea shop at the end of 1974.
Bengali Association of New South Wales is a non-profit, charitable and cultural organisation registered under the NSW Charitable Collections Act 1934.
At the end of 1974, when the founders came together to build what we stand on today, they only had but one purpose. To spread the Bengali way of love, laughter, food, music, art and all things that make us so very quintessentially Bengali.
Meet the team
who keeps it all together.
BANSW is governed by the BANSW Management committee. Usually comprising of the President, General Secretary, Treasurer and six general committee members, the management committee makes sure the association moves towards the right direction for the betterment of the greater community.
And each and every one of these people, happily volunteer to take on this extremely intense responsibility without ever batting an eyelid, entirely out of their sheer love for all things, we Bengalis call dear.
